About Brian Viola

Based on Long Island, New York, I have spent the last 10 years as a professional dog trainer helping thousands of dogs and families heal through training and exploration. My training philosophy and approach is founded upon a commitment to building and strengthening the connection between you and your dog.

I believe in taking a holistic, long-lasting approach, and am devoted to demystifying and simplifying the training process.

I've worked with dogs for over 23 years in various aspects of training and care. My experience includes veterinary assisting for 6 years, shelter work for 3 years, mentoring under professional trainers early on for 4 years, 5 years experience with working dogs and running my dog training business for 9 years. I have worked with countless shelters and rescues, providing consulting and volunteer services helping with placement, acclimation, rehoming, euthanasia and foster programs.

I have devoted my life to help connect families with their dogs by creating a lasting change, deepening bonds and building confidence and calmness on both ends of the leash.

While my skillset lends itself to performance dogs, I also specialize in training pet dogs. More specifically, I focus on creating a balanced family dynamic through private training programs. You and your dog's needs are at the forefront of attention during our whole training process.

Certified by the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT), an active member United States Mondioring Association (USMRA), active club member of Big Apple Mondioring, attended nationwide seminars with American Pet Dog Association (APDT), the Pet Professional Guild (PPG), and the Fenzi Dog Sport Academy (FDSA). I am a Good Citizen Evaluator for the American Kennel Club (AKC), proficient in all training modalities, both new and old. I have worked with most breeds and temperaments. I am well versed in all canine developmental stages from puppies to senior dogs as well as a wide range of behavioral issues, traumas, and phobias.

At home my free time is occupied in nature, on my yoga mat, in the kitchen (duck, sweet potato and rice are a specialty), or with my own dogs, Bishop and Veda. Bishop keeps my working dog skills sharp by competing in sports trials. Veda, an injured German Shepherd, is always by my side and often assists with client dogs and demonstrations.
